Peterbot's keyboard history
The story here is loyalty to one board. The Apex Pro TKL was his keyboard for well over three years, from September 2022 to April 2026, so the current setup grew out of a long run on a single model.
The one interruption was the Wooting 60HE v2 Black in April 2026. It lasted under a month, and he went straight back to the Apex Pro TKL for the next four months or so. In August 2026 he moved to the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 Black, so he stayed in the same line and the same TKL layout rather than changing brands.

Switches and actuation
The Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 Black uses SteelSeries OmniPoint 3.0 switches. It is a TKL, so there is no numpad, and the PCB is non-hotswappable. The switches are part of the board, and changing the switch type means changing the keyboard.
That is the main practical difference from the Wooting alternatives below. Both Wooting 80HE models are hotswappable and list a wide range of switch options, from Lekker Linear and Lekker Tikken to Geon Raw HE and Wooting x TTC KOM. The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL uses Razer Analog Optical switches and, like the Apex, is not hotswappable.
Key binds
In Fortnite the keyboard layout is easy to read. Crouch is on C, jump on Space Bar and sprint on the backtick key. Weapon slots sit on the number keys 1 to 5.
Building gets its own cluster: wall on T, floor on Y, stairs on F, roof on V and trap on R. Rotate Building is on J, and Building Edit is on G. Turbo Building, Confirm Edit on Release and Disable Pre-Edit Option are all switched on. The table above has the full list.

Should you buy Peterbot's keyboard?
The Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 Black is available to buy. A TKL suits players who want a compact board without a numpad, with more desk space for mouse movement and still a familiar layout. It is also a good fit if you like a sturdy, heavier keyboard that stays put on the desk. Among the boards here it is the tallest and heaviest, and the PCB is not hotswappable.
If you want more flexibility, the alternatives trade differently:
- Wooting 80HE Black / 80HE+ Frost: TKL boards that are lighter and lower-profile, with a hotswappable PCB and many switch choices. They are slightly deeper from front to back.
- Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL Black: a lighter TKL with Razer Analog Optical switches. Like the Apex, it is non-hotswappable.
